Today I have resigned from Blip, the company I cofounded in 2005.
I'm incredibly honored to have been part of the birth of Blip, when it was nothing but an idea named after the short advertisements from Max Headroom, one of my favorite TV shows growing up.
I'm proud to have been able to bring a durable market strategy that remains in place today: a platform play for serious video creators. This was a bold decision during our formative years, when we were surrounded by nattering naysayers advising us to follow the herd into viral and even pirated content. We defied the accepted wisdom, and it paid off.
As Director of the Producer Software Team, I looked forward each morning to mentoring such a very talented team of developers, and remain grateful for the opportunity to seriously apply Test Driven Development practices in an Enterprise Java environment for years on end. The amount I've learned is staggering!
Now I'm anticipating growing Please Pass the Gravy, a potluck organizing web site that finally answers the question: who's bringing what?
I'm also looking forward to seeing what new challenges are out there.
Amidst the dislocation and pessimism, never forget that the network revolution fundamentally solves the problem of information, making what economists call the Perfect Market finally possible after 10,000 years of dreaming. Now comes the time for filling in the details, working together to create an era of unimaginable wealth and happiness. Let's do it!

Whoa! Congrats on your decision (and on your obvious contribution to blip and the online video community at large).

Wow! What a surprise! Good luck on your future projects! Please Pass the Gravy is perfect, I've thought of the idea in the past myself, so I'm sure it'll catch on. It'll probably spread like wildfire if you make it a Facebook app, since middle America understands Facebook now! Best of luck to you! Hope to see you around. XOXO
